“Under-the-Hood by OCVG is a must-attend educational series for every entrepreneur who hopes to take a company from start-up to successful exit,” said OCVG president, Marc Averitt. “We’re lifting the hood to expose how things really work at every phase of the business.”
Part one of the series, entitled “Getting it Going,” will describe what it takes to get a company off the ground, featuring a panel of experts including: Alex Dickenson, CEO and co-founder of Helixis; Mike Flynn, attorney at Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth; Randy Lunn, managing director of Palomar Ventures; and Sharon Stevenson, co-founder and managing director of Okapi Venture Capital. These experts will each describe their experience from their side of the negotiating table.
“Getting it Growing,” is part two of the series and will focus on the company’s next phase of growth. Taking place on March 18, 2008, a different expert panel will focus on tough decisions that VC’s and entrepreneurs will be challenged with as they seek to take their companies to the next level.
The third and final program in the “Under the Hood” series, called “Getting it Golden,” will be held on April 15, 2008. An all-new expert panel will spotlight the balancing act needed to manage the end-game. This topic will interest anyone who is curious about what really goes on during an IPO or sale.
